Washington’s success is intertwined with the success of children of color
From early childhood through postsecondary education, having leaders of color with agency and power is critical in order to build and transform systems that historically have underserved and overlooked communities of color.
Children of color face significant, persistent structural inequities that affect their educational outcomes. Addressing these inequities is complex, and the people who have a seat at decision-making tables matter.
Historically, these tables have not been representative of the diverse children and families served in our education systems, resulting in the absence of important perspectives and experiences necessary to close the opportunity gap.
